Community News
On Saturday evening, the College Big Band performed at the Jazz Under the Stars event, hosted by Toowoomba Anglican School. This fabulous and relaxed afternoon of music featured performances from the local Cool Nights Big Band, alongside several school ensembles from across the region. Despite high winds moving the event indoors this year, the non-competitive atmosphere created an enjoyable and inspiring afternoon. Families relaxed and enjoyed a BBQ while taking in the fantastic performances.
We are incredibly proud of our students for representing the College with enthusiasm and professionalism. Events like this offer valuable opportunities to further develop their musical craft—and their commitment to doing so on a weekend is truly commendable. Numerous audience members sought out our proud conductor, Christina Marangelli, to compliment the band’s performance. They were especially impressed by the group’s strong sound and the ability of each individual musician to confidently carry their part.
Traffic Update - SSC Stephen Street Entrance (Term 4)
With the commencement of Term 4, please be aware of the changes made to the Stephen Street entrance.
As you would be aware, the driveway narrows slightly when you pass through the brick gates. This can lead to a buildup of vehicles entering SSC from Stephen Street. To help maintain a smooth flow of traffic, vehicles exiting the College grounds will now be required to give way to those entering. To facilitate the work, this entry will be closed on Friday, 26 September, and access to SSC will be available only via the South Street entrance. Please see attached photos for the upcoming changes.
Overdue Library Books
Students at all campuses will receive long overdue library book notes this week. Junior campuses will receive paper versions and SSC students will have theirs emailed to them.
Could parents and caregivers please remind students to check their emails and overdue slips and return any books that are on them. Books at the junior campuses can be returned to reception if they can't access the library.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

HSC Å·ÃÀÊÓƵ's Got Talent - 16 & 17 September
We are excited to announce that "Å·ÃÀÊÓƵ's Got Talent" is happening again this year! This fun, informal event will take place during first break (10.45am-11.30am) and is all about celebrating the unique talents of our students. Whether it's singing, dancing, or showing off a hidden skill, it is a chance for students to enjoy themselves and share their abilities in a relaxed and supportive environment. We will invite all students to come along and cheer for their peers making it a memorable lunchtime filled with laughter and entertainment! Parents are also welcome.
Students have been invited to register their interest. They are able to do their act solo or with a group of friends. We aim for each item to be no longer than 2 minutes. When they register, they will need to let the Year 6 Facilitators know if they need music and which song, and also if they need props, such as gym mats. We are looking forward to this very exciting event.
